Unit 1 Understanding Geography  Map Image
In this unit, students will be learning about . . . geography- landforms, bodies of water, and climate.  We will explore how geography influences life in different regions, or parts, of the United States.  Your child will learn:

The land of an area plays a role in shaping the area’s identity – the history, the types of jobs available, and the lifestyles there. 

Unit 2 A Nation of Many Peoples  Branches of Gov
In this unit, students will be learning about . . .  the government and people of the United States.  The class will explore how people with many different backgrounds work together to make the United States a good place to live. 

 

 

 

Your child will learn about:

Understanding how our government works will help students develop an awareness of, and appreciation for, the rights and responsibilities that come with U.S. citizenship.

In this unit, the students will learn about . . . the land and the people of the regions of the United States.  (Northeast, South, Midwest, West) Students will explore how the wide range of geography, natural resources, and cultures found in the different regions affects and lifestyles and livelihood. 
We will end the unit by looking at the United States and the World. 

 

Unit:  Wisconsin

In this unit, the students will learn about . . . the history of Wisconsin.  We will explore Wisconsin from the earliest people, explorers, missionaries, and settlers.  We will talk about how Wisconsin became a state, and who made Wisconsin famous.  At the end of this unit we will take a trip to Madison.
